am i at risk of breaking my rear end
have a stock rear end and putting out 393rwhp....i heard u can break the rear end on stock powerjust seein what yall think

heres a video my friend made of a pass in my old s10. stock motor, bald street tires, and it was spinning like a mother. dont know when in the run it broke. very lucky it didnt slide all the way out

Save your money. Your gonna eventually need a rear, wheither its today, tomorrow or next year its gonna break. Some claim that theres is holding strong with more power. Thats because they are on borrowed time. Just save your money and get a 9" moser (I don't care for 12 bolts, as they will break also). Until then just keep on running your car like you have been and wish for the best.

These are the same rears used in cars being made 10 years before the ls1 was being created! Borrowed time for sure. There are variables that can prolong or speed up the lifespan including M6 sticky tires wheel hop track usage maintenance etc. Like a lot of cars GM just wanted the car out the door for as little $ as possible. I'm at 90k and have a tubular suspension 3500 stall and in 6 weeks I'll have my engine back in and making 3x more power than the old 10 bolt was designed for so this is a realization I'm going through as well.
