Default ording a cam setup tonight! read over please!

so im ordering my cam setup through texas speed tonight and i wanted to make sure this ok before i buy everything.

-texas speed MS3 cam 112 degree (hoping for choppy idle)
-comp cams 918's
-texas speed chromoly hardened pushrods
-GM bolt and gasket kit
-LS2 timing chain
-LS6 ported oil pump

this is my complete list and will have it dyno tuned after the install. i will be doing this install myself and a couple of friends that know what they are doing. is there anything else that i need? and is this cam a good combination for my car and its mods while keeping drivability?

i dont think the comp 918's will hold up. i think the MS3 has a lift over .600 and the 918 are only good up to .600.

just call TSP and they can hook you up with there MS3 with valvetrain kit and everything else you might need.

918's should be fine. They are rated at .625. I would run duals with the MS series... just cause. Sounds like you got most of it together. Your not replacing seals, seats, retainers and locks?

I would just assume replace all that **** while I was in there for good measure.

I realize the lift is 603/609 on X-ER lobes but no way would i run 918's with that cam. If you wanna go beehive look at some PACS or just run some PRC or PP doubles. There have been a lot wrecked motors cause of faulty 918's and even if they have FINALLY fixed the prob I would want something stronger with a little more margin of error anyway.

I would at least do seals, seats, and ti retainers too while you are in there. Just order the whole kit and you will get everything listed + locks IIRC.

+1 ... 918's had a bad batch, I heard they fixed it awhile back though.

I still wouldn't run any batch of 918's with the MS series.

im ordering the kit from texas speed that i think includes the retainers... heres a link
http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp...d=174&catid=49
I heard they had a bad batch however the problem was fixed... i would be surprised if they were bad springs that texas speed would be offering them in one out of the two cam kits they offer

metric gear wrenches with the flexible end are worth their weight in gold during the install if you dont already have some!

Huh, I also talked to John and he too suggested the V.2

The MS3 is too large IMO. MS series are meant to go the the track often and put down some good et's. Not saying you cant DD them ,Just not for me.

I think if you take John's advice with the V.s you will be happy.

Peak power or power under the curve. Big difference.
