Default did i go to big with my choice of cam?

i got a Torquer V.3 in my M6 T/A.....starting to wonder if i went to big for the street....the car has good street manners....but it seems like the torque is really low....me and my buddies usually run each other from 20-90 and they usually pull away from me pretty good in the beginning this cam dont start pulling really hard till up top........so did i go to big?

what rear gear you got? and went too big , depends if that is your goal? or drag racing 1/4 mile more important?

from what i understand that cam doesn't start making good power till 4500-5000rpm. the ls1 likes the rpms. no cam really makes much power befor like 3000-3500rpm.

I am just going off of what i have learned in my search for the best dd h/c....so that might not be correct. Im new to the ls1.

i am undecided between the 228 and the 233...i dont want to make a big $$$ mistake but you have to learn somehow. Everyone has a different idea of what is best so i guess ill just have to do trial and error. Till i find what i like. lol

well if street racing is your goal, prolly would have been better with the 224/227 cam as the power band is a little wider, and starts at a lower rpm.

but if you swapped in 4.10 gears, I think you'd be happy. and it wont hurt you really in gas mileage it'll just make you cruise 1 gear higher then before. say, driving 40mph down the road, now you'll be in 5 gear instead of 4 for instance. but it would make your car rev alot fster, and get you into the higher rpms where your cam really shines. Id do that instead of swapping cams again. IMHO you have a great street cam. also, you'll want to shift near 6300 rpm to get the most out of it. if you shift lower your just goin to spend too much time in the low rpms after the shift.

You could try playing with advancing the cam and see if you like it better.

its in the gearing, you just need better gears (4.11 with a 9 inch would go nicely, 4.10 and a 10 bolt = borrowed time.)

yeah agree about the borrowed time, except he doesnt drag race. only roll race. but either way, no, stay 26" tire. what tires u got now? it really is a great matchup.
