Default Pulling cam ??

Am I correct that the 5/16 rod is slid into the two holes behind the cam Plate? If so, the left side slid in no problem, the right side however only goes in about 4 inches. spun the cam around a few times with no luck. Please advise, Thanks

Try to pull the lifter up on that side with a pen magnet, then slide the dowl in.

Default cam

you usely have to grind a flat side the length of the rod. not much. this side against the lifter. smooth it with sand paper. apply oil.

I also forgot about the rod. I have the JRP tool. I don't use a dowl rod.

What does the JRP tool look like? Do you think I should use a smaller rod on the right side, 1\4 in maybe?

It's an aluminum dowl rod ground down to a flat edge @ a 90* angle, with an end to stop it from going in too far. Cost about $80. I think you can find it in the tools forum if you search. The rod you have should work. You can always use 8 pen magnets on that side if the rod it not working for you.

Success, ground a flat edge on the rod and it slipped right in. Thanks for the tips.

Cams in and didn't hear anything drop. Cam plate on the gear side and the cam gear have wear marks; normal or should I replace both?
