I have the TR224 224 112lsa and ported LS6 heads with other goodies and I am little over 400RWHP through a Strange 12 bolt. So like other said just get a cheap set of ported LS6 heads. You will be happy .

I found a set of 243 take off castings on ebay, but even sending them out and having them CNC'd to stage 2 from TEA, awsome deal on the heads and stage 2 im at 1300.00
I do believe that you not going to find much for under 1k thats worth all the time and effort, but there are deals out there. Check out TEA's website and see what they got.

For that price Patriot performance is your best bet. Not sure you will hit your goal with budget heads though. AFR 205's milled to increase compression will definitly get you there and then some.

Your best bet is to absolutely look in the dyno section & not take any one persons recommendation on what heads to go with. At the $1000 price our PRC LS6 Stage 1 heads will outperform any competitors heads near this price. Don't take my word for it though, read the dyno section & flow test whatever heads you buy. Over inflated flow numbers are common place on the internet, especially in the budget cylinder head market.
We didn't build the PRC LS6 head to be a budget head, we build it with all the features & technology that goes into our more expensive heads. The result is a cylinder head that constantly performs as expected & flows & makes power just like we advertise.
