Just seen the advertisement for this on here. Does anyone know if you will pass smog with this? Is it legal? Sorry...bored and to lazy to call or lookit up.

you shouldnt have to worry about smog as long aas you have no lights unless Cali does the rollers too. My 232/232 cam passes MD emissions because I dont have any SES lights.

I was curious when I saw this cam so I decided to research more into it an come to find out its specs are VERY similar to my LPE GT2-3 cam. Not sure what lobes it uses but I'm pretty sure my cam is a Comp grind. You could definitely run it off the stock tuning-its mild enough and im pretty sure you would have no problem passing smog with it. As far as 430hp goes? maybe on an LS6 but not sure about an LS1. I put down 393/372 with my cam an LS6 heads an that comes out to about 430hp I would say. So its not "complete bullshit" but just the cam alone in an LS1 id guess around 360 to the wheels

I would take "gauranteed horsepower" with a grain of salt or any so called advertised horsepower for that matter. Your FAST 90/90 might be a little overkill with that cam and stock heads-I'm sure it'd run fine but if I had that combo I'd definitely be running some better flowing heads like some AFRs with a slightly bigger cam to take full advantage of that combination. I run a ported LS6 intake an ported LS6 heads an I was told it might be a little too much for my cam-which I was fine with as I planned on upgrading the cam later anyway when I got a second vehicle. Sorry I dont know anything about the COMP 265XR. Overall, I'm sure you'd be happy with that cam-but I can pretty much garauntee you'll want to go bigger eventually lol everyone does.

Well....after reading the Dyno Proven LS1 performance parts by SA. I'll throw salt and pepper on it. Catch my drift. Good book...get it...u'll see. Of course heads, not AFR though.... Trickflow...maybe AFR or patriot. Got somemore miles to go on the stock heads and cam before I infest all that money. Of course more...always. It's all about Cali's gay smog laws though for me. Point taken....bigger cam... 224/224 114 right? or lingens legal TT 500 hp cam specs or the Zo6 specs?...I'll probably be moving to TX. Thanks for the info man...
Unlike...duhhh Right on Point....hehe... double gaaaaayeee lol... Flygirls..?.

No problem-I think it would be all about the tuning when it comes to passing smog-I'm sure you could run a 224 and still be fine. I dont know how Cali is, I've heard they're strict but I would think as long as they see you still have cats an don't throw any codes then im sure you'd have nothing to worry about. If youd like some more technical advice-talk to either PredatorZ or Patrick G-they wont steer you wrong when it comes to cams-good luck man.
