Default stumble @ 2000-2500 rpm

Well I recently bought my first f-body with 53k miles. Well I decided to change the plugs as they were the original. I bought a set of ngk spark plugs and a set of msd wires. I installed all of this with the help of a member on this forum. Everything went without a hitch, but when I started the car up the idle was at about 400 and then went up to 1000 and then died. So I tried to test drive it and it would die when the rpms got to 800. So then I turned the a/c off and this fixed the problem (probably has something to do with whats next). After this I took it for another test drive and the car would stumble at 2000 and felt like it had no power. Any ideas?..the other member and I think it may be a clogged fuel filter, but you never know. When I bought the car I found out that the previous owner babied that car and only put 20000 miles in 6 yrs. So its needs some tlc and I need some advice as to what is giving me the problem about stumble.

Thanks

Did you have these problems before the plug/wire swap?

Not really, but it was very very small. The plug/wire swap made it much worse. I thought it was the plugs, but right now I think its the fuel filter. Do you think so?

The plug and wire swap slould have helped not hurt. Did you check all gaps in the plugs? Did you double check to see if all the plugs wires were "snaped" on the plug tops and pushed in to the coils? Changing the fuel filter is not a bad idea anyway, but thats kinda odd that it got cloged on the first start up after a plug swap. If it were me I would start with the plugs/ wires and go from there.

Yep I checked everything. All gapped at 55 just like the originals and I triple checked every single wire. But it was present before, just very faint. Its not life threatening or gonna destroy the car, but I just want to give it a little tlc.

If you checked every thing like you did go for the fuel filter tomorrow see what happens. Ls1 with 54k babied miles should run like a top.

Which plugs NGK TR55's? I would not have regapped them - should have been ok with the factory gap. Sometimes plugs can get damaged in the process depending on who is doing it and the plug!

Yes they are tr55. I didn't regap them, I just checked it (or if thats what you call regapping?) and I don't think its that because there is nothing such as misfiring and stuff like that. It seems like a fuel issue so I'll see what I can get there.

Last night the power wasn't there in the top end, but this morning it just stumbled and gave power again. So I replaced the ff today and it looks like it was already a replaced one. It was clogged up a little, but after I put the new one in, the car ran like a top. So I'm going to put some injector cleaner and run it a little to make sure nothing else is wrong and it runs perfect. So looks like its running good again. Thanks for your help.

I had a stumble at 2000rpm and a new MAF fixed it.

Yeah there is no telling. It only happens once in a blue moon .today it happened maybe once after I replaced the fuel filter and I put about a good 60 miles on it today. If it gets worse I may deal with the MAF and the o2 sensors.

Try cleaning the MAF with MAF cleaner spray. That fixed my low RPM stumble.
