Naw just depends on how many miles you have. They're like $20 to change the trays, you don't HAVE to but why not since its such a cheap upgrade? If your car has more then 40k miles or is older then a 02 I would just change them for the hell of it since it's such a cheap thing anyways.

LS2 trays are supposed to be a little better than stock, or so I've read. I think it has to do with the trays not allowing rotation of the lifters within the trays at high rpms. Of course, just what I've researched...I bought the LS2 trays for my Torquer 2 swap coming up soon.

A set of 5 (they come in a box of 5) LS2 trays cost $12 new from a sponsor on my last build. A new tray should have more friction to reduce the chance of lifters falling out during a future cam swap, and also should be snugger around the end of the lifter to reduce the chance of it spinning. I say $12 is cheap peace of mind. If you have the problem in the future at least you know it wasn't because you didn't spend ~$20 while you were in there.

The trays are $20 everywhere, check texas speed or thunder racing. theyre like $30 with shipping but yea, they're not expensive
