Question so...installed my cam. Snag at the very end!

help out guys. So, the ls6 cam install went without a hitch. everything is buttoned up, coolant is added at the resevoir, at the radiator, and actually at the entrance to the water pump. However....no circulation. The water pump is squeeling, and not feeding the car. its pressurizing though. what do I need to look for?

It wont circulate untill the t-stat opens. Wait until the motor gets to operating temp and watch it in the radiator... Make sure to keep the rad. cap off though..

Did you bleed the system?

The pump is probably squealing because you spilled something on the pulley or belt.

You should have filled thru radiator top and all air pockets would have been purged. What my Manual says. I did it that way when I replaced waterpump and had no problems. Warmed up motor, thermostat opened and I topped it off. I then topped off purge/reservoir tank.

if you unhook the throttle body coolant hose it will let air bleed out of the system. Once you see a good steam coming out of the throttlebody hook the hos back up and your done.

Be mindful of your temp gauge for the first couple of miles. You will likely have air trapped in the system, it will take a while to get it out. Just watch the temp gauge, and top off your coolant regularly until it is back to normal

you can also drill a small hole in the thermostat that alows water to move through it even when its closed ....but it helps get the air out,....
