Cam and valvetrain question
i have a lq4 and looking at using comp cam 222/224 566/568 cam with stock push rods and ls6 springs.... wondering if this combo will work together, reving to 6000 rpm. thanks, chuck

What type of lobe design on the cam? And yes, +1 on the springs not being rated to sustain that type of lift. I would go with 7.400 hardened pushrods and Comp 918 springs at minimum.

No matter what you always want to go .050 higher in your spring lift capability of the total cam lift number. Ask any one and they will agree. Stock rods are good for a stock cam. Why you ask because the are not made to deal with more aggressive lobe ramps and they will become the weakest link in your valve train. On the valve train there are two things that you can put something none stock and they will work and those are the heads & rockers. Even on heads it is still recommended to get them ported and polished to cam specs to get the best performance out of the cam.
How many miles does your engine have? If your over 50K I would also think of replacing the lifters. if your over 80K miles I would STRONGLY recommend replacing lifters, and oil pump.
