Default Is this Cam trash?

I bought this from another board member. He said it was from a low mile LS6. When I got it, I discovered it has some pitting on it. My machine shop didn't want to use it - what do you think?

EDIT: THIS IS NOT THE CAM I JUST SOLD! If you read page 2 you'll understand this - thanks.

Unfortunately, that cam is now a paper weight.

yeah - I mentioned it to the seller but his response was - "They (cam and springs) worked great for me, Unless something happened during shipping wouldn't be the first time with ups but they looked great to me when I pulled it"

That thing is toast. A good reason not to buy used internal engine parts.

The only thing worse than that cam would be is someone used it in an engine. 2 more cams like that an you can make a 3 legged shop stool.

To even think this is shipping damage is absurd - to say it is stupidly dishonest. It looks like a manufacturing defect rather than wear, in which case it could be ok to run it. I wouldn't.

That is junk. It sat somewhere, and got rusty while it was sitting. It's now a perfect candidate for a "cam lamp" LOL.

No but damn it I want one.......old lady wont go for that in the living room though.. it would have to be a shop table......

For those who havent seen it, actually now that I look at it, the lifters arent in the right spot for it to be an LS.

This isn't the cam I just bought from you is it?! I trust you as a seller, you seem like a nice guy.
