Default Just finished heads/cam install

I finally finished installing the PP stage 2 5.3 heads, TSP 231/237 cam, lifters, pushrods, jwis tining chain, asp pulley and hooker cat back.

A few observations...

- Next time (if there is a next time) I need to do this indoors or when it's warmer out
- The TSP 231/237 cam idles better than my old hotcam.
- The hooker cat-back cured the rasp from my MACs and former 2OTL

I just got a couple heat cycles done yesterday and noticed the exhaust is tapping my floor (no biggie). If it dries up, I'll take a little shakedown ride today.

I would have never taken on this project if it was not for the help of this board and ls1info.com. Thanks!

I put a ported Katech oil pump oil on when the hotcam was done in 2001. It only has about 15k on it so I'm hoping it will last a little while longer. I did, however, install a JWIS timing chain.

The bolt that holds the pickup to the pump was the scariest bolt of the whole job.

Nice setup man, what kind of numbers are you hoping for out of that combo?

I would be real happy with anything over 400 rwhp.

The reason is that both the decent tuning shops around here use a Mustang dyno which (from my understanding) is good for tuning but doesn't give as high of numbers as the dynojets.

Yeah that would be good being that you will be on a Mustang dyno, i beleive the mustang is usually about 10% lower than the Dynojet. Did you have any problems along your install, i am looking at doing my install within a couple of months and just wondering how it went for you. Hey by the way do you have any soudclips of that cam?

I don't have any sound clips of my car yet but I found this thread in the multi-media section.

With the hooker cat back I still get a nice lope but it's a lot quieter than this guys duals.

Yeah i've heard his setup, was just curious to how it sounds through a y-pipe setup. That cam does have a nice lope to it, imagine it on a 110lsa.

Sounds like a nice set up. You should be over 400 rwhp.
