Default What valve springs and retainers?

I have a XER287HR comp cam I am putting in a lq9 with 243 heads Comp doesn't show what springs to use with this cam. any help would be great. Also if i run this cam straight up will I have enough piston to valve clearance?
Cam specs are 605/609 238/240 on a 112 lca. Oh and what lifters?

My cam is a bit bigger over all same LSA and I am running comp 921s. On new stock LS1/LS6 lifters got them from Gaterman Products $100.

comp 921s should do the trick no prob.

you can use stock retainers or go aftermarket if you want a little lighter valve train...and lighter wallet

You have a myriad of choices.. Just make sure they can handle your lift and are set at the proper installed height. That is just as important as choosing a well matched spring...

Lifters- Morels ar Lunati are awesome but on a budget LS7's will work just fine.

The all new PRC valve springs are a ground up replacement to the gold/platinum spring kits that's been around for several years. The PRC .650" spring kit will easily handle what your looking to do & was designed to provide a longer spring life & resist losing spring pressure. The spring kit is priced well under $300 & offers springs, titanium retainers, seats & seals.

If your wanting to go single springs & don't mind changing springs more often, you might checkout the PAC single springs. We sell them as a package with free new valve seals for $150!!

26926s is what I would put on mine if I had that cam. I dont think I would run any single beehive type of spring on that much duration.

People think Im crazy for running 918s on my 219/235 .607/.621 cam, and I wouldnt run them on anything much bigger..

Set of PAC 1518's will do the job, direct drop in replacments, some people prefer doubles, but they require a seat and seal change. You have the PAC 1221 and 1521 if your looking to go with doubles as welll as the PRC's and Patriot golds.

its not the duration that determines spring requirements, its the lobe profile

If you want to be technical, its the system as a whole that determines spring requirments and setup.

And very few of us have he ability to test on a spintron, so we generalize based off of experience.

I would still go with a set of 925s or 926s and add the tool steel retainer.

Why not titanium? Also what stall should I have for this cam? It's in a 5500lb truck with a small 150hp shot. Right now I have a circle d 245mm 2c.

I weighed my tool steel retainers and they were within a gram of the Ti.

Patriot extremes would work nice, 155 pound seat pressure and take 660 lift plus very light retainer and good locks. Full kit for like $275. Throw a new set in every 15000 miles.
