Default Camshaft Lobe with the most rpm potential

What cam lobes have you found have the most rpm potential with a hydraulic roller.

From my testing-which has been limited I will admit-I have found the XE lobes from comp have been the most stable.

I haven't much feedback on the XFI or LSr lobes, I found the XE's pulled better up top over the XE-R's.

Your thoughts?

Haven't run them, but I've read some good things about the EPS lobes lately

This.

Geoff has developed a new lobe that is much more stable than some of the older stuff. There's several of his camshafts putting down proven/real world results.

Since when is it the cam lobe that limits rpm? The cam lobe profile does not in any way effect rpm range.

Of course cam lobe profile affects or could limit rpm range!

Are you talking about events? They have to be correct also but there are lobes that simply won't go that high in rpm before they go haywire with the exact same stuff as other lobes.

Some lobes are specifically for higher rpm and some for lower rpm.

Generally the most aggressive lobes will turn the least rpm and the tamest lobes will turn the highest rpm all else equal.

For instance an extreme rpm lobe will turn more rpm than an XER will with the same stuff most of the time.

Erik it seems that you've noticed the same thing between the XE and XE-R?

I think I read somewhere Patrick said the EPS lobe was developed for a .600 lift and work with a beehive spring

compcam recommends 26926 for all its LSL lobes, from the smallest to the biggest.can the best beehive spring be used on 54-455-11 the smallest cam of this lobe ,I feel spring 26926 is not needed.I am looking at a EPS cam ,this can save $ on springs and retainers.what do the cam gods say?
