Ticking help, no its not the headers.
Was driving the car last night and it started a pretty loud tick, as you can see in the video. Also kinda has a clunk along with the ticks which kinda scared me lol.... any help would be greatly appreciated. I made this video then shut the car off and have not touched it since. Where should I start to find the problem?

Doesnt sound like any rod knock ive heard before.
It sounded like a backfire at the end of the vid, and it sounded to me like it came out somewhere in the exhaust rather than out the intake manifold.
Checked the header bolts/gaskets yet? How about where the y pipe and collectors come together?
If those check out OK, then start it up and put a long screwdriver on each valve cover while holding your ear to the handle and see what you can hear. If something is broken inside it should come through louder through the screw driver.
Me personally, if the exhaust **** checked out good and than I would go ahead and pull the valve covers just to be sure skipping my screwdriver mention. If a spring is in fact broken, you dont want to run it anymore at all in fear of the keepers comming out of the retainer and it dropping a valve.
Good luck man

Well im pretty sure its not the headers. Im not gonna run it anymore untill i get time to pull the valve covers off. Hopefully its just some springs or lifters and didnt damage anything too major. It started ticking right after a WOT run from 0-80ish, then i pulled in the drive and heard the ticking, shut it off and didnt start it till the next day which is when i made the video. May give me a good excuse to buy new heads if it didnt damage the pistons or anything

Maybe a bent valve or broken spring that is not allowing it to close all the way. It sounds like air (compression) blowing past a valve back up into the intake. Has it always ran that bad? Sounds like it has a really bad miss as well. Definitely not a rod knock of lower end noise.

i just dont hear it being anything for the exhaust. my bet would be what was mentioned above, valve spring or bent valve. could even be a broken or bent pushrod or two. anywho, the loud knok almst sounds like the piston slapping a valve! pull the covers. it def sounds like a top end problem. good luck

That def sounds like valve train, bottom end problems usually sound like a way faster tapping (moving twice as fast and valve train). I'd just take off the valve covers and start from there, and not start it again.

x2 i would pull valve cover off also and check springs and rocker arms, i wanna say it maybe rocker arms came out of adjustment, my buddys car did that before and sounded like that. but if its a broke valve spring valve is gonna kiss the piston. get a valve spring testing tool and you check them with it on the car.

sounds like a top end issue!!
so when you have opened up the valve cover each side then you should see what is going on, you could maby do a compression test first if you have te tools then you should see where the problem is located on what cyl.
Alway good to check compression first.
good luck

It sounds just like my brothers car when he broke a valve spring. I have spun rod bearings in two motors and it is nothing like the noise your car is making. Take those valve covers off and let us know what you see. Gluck on your fix they can get pretty expensive.

I would not run that engine anymore until you find the problem. It seems to be running pretty rough and if you do have a broken valvespring, it's possible you had a valve hang open that kissed a piston. If it's only a bent valve now, you might be able to salvage the bottom end. If you continue to run it, that valve could break off and take a piston and cylinder wall out on its way.
If you pull the valve covers off, and the problem isn't obvious, it will be more apparent after you take the rockers off and all the valves are closed. If you can't move the offending valve(s) off the seat, it's time to pull the heads off...
Good luck!
