Default Dome vs. Flat-top Piston

Is a flat-top piston better than a domed piston for nitrous?

I am getting ready to build a 6.0 and purchased a set of 12:1 wiseco's (65cc)
Problem I ran into is I just picked up a direct port kit for this build and have been told that I may want to change my piston. I originally was going to run N/A, but got a great deal.

What I have already:

TFS 225 CNC heads (65cc)
Fast 92
Scat H beams (6.125)
Stock crank

Any help on this guys would be greatly appreciated

That seems like awfully high compression. What is the cc of the domes?

A little theory for you =
With a domed piston most of the force from the combustion will travel out and against the the rings/ring lands.
With a dished piston most of the force will travel strait to the center of the piston face. So your best bet would be to go with a smaller chamber and small dish to the piston...you can go as far as having the chambers welded and CNCed to get the size/ shape you want.
But with that being said, a good friend of mine is running dome pistons with 14:1 comperssion, ported/milled 5.3 heads and big cam in his 346 with a big shot of n2o...he runs mid 10s in the 1/4.

mid 10's? that's pretty slow for a "big shot" and 14:1

OP how much do you plan on spraying? and what are the goals of the car, my buddy just built a 408 w/ custom diamond flat top pistons w/ a -6cc valve cut and they are gapped for a 400 hit.

I have my 404 setup with ported/milled 241s (for now) and dished pistons with valve reliefs to give me 11:1 comp ratio and "hope" to go with a 250-300 wet shot in the future.

i will be running a -2cc piston on my 404ci with a 64cc head to give me around 11.7:1 with a 300 hit

I was thinking 200-250 shot on the direct port. The goal is to just fly on a 370.
Are the diamond pistons better for gas than wiseco's?
Hellfire rings?

I would say it all depends, I don't know what rings he is using off the top of my head, I do know they are not off the shelf diamonds.

for a 250 hit i'd say it wouldn't matter if you went dome vs dish vs flat.

all in the tune up.

Nitrous loves compression. It's just a matter of your motor having the internals strong enough to withstand it.
