Default Cam Question

Ive been doing research for a cam swap and I have narrowed it down. I want a cam that will get me around 400 HP with stock heads and full bolt ons without spinning more than 6400-6500 RPM. I am thinking something in the 224-230 range. I want it relatively easy on springs, and I want it to lope hard. I was thinking maybe a TR224 type cam on a 111 or 110. What cam (custom or not) will keep in under 6500 RPM, lope hard, be "easy" on springs, and make the power I want. Thanks.

I second that. The tr224 commonly makes 390 with full boltons. Not saying it cant hit 400 because it has been done but most of the time not.

i have a 226/234/558/575@112 lunatti and it is exactly what you are looking for mine peaks at 6250 with stock lifters and dynoed with just a base tune 400rwhp/397rwtq
and it lopes nice due to the big split in the duration
my car did 11.97@114 with a A/4 with 2:73's N/A 3550 lbs on a 1.8 60' so it has a lot more potential

It should be pretty easy on springs too by looking at the lift #'s. I will definetley consider that lunati cam, would it be possible for you to post a sound clip??

nope not yet --i broke the rear and the tranny the last trip down to the track -so its kinda outa commisson and then i bought a yank tranny --turns out 3/4 is messed up on it --it lopes nice and is a low and mid range beast and its not to shabby on the top - my buddy has a g5x2 and he has said my car sounds hairier than his i like it and i would suggest it to anyone --Dave Potter ran 10.68 with this cam and a 4400 stall with 4:10's so i have some tuneing i need to get done -my 26lb injectors just arent cutting it anymore
