Stock. Resolve idle issues with a tune.

My old 230/230 114lsa would idle fine without a hole but with my new 232/238 111lsa I found it necessary to run a small hole....

Let me rephrase my post - no modification made to stock hole diameter. Was also told to resolve idle issues with tuning.

I agree, you do not need to enlarge your tb whole. I enlarged mine two sizes from stock but this was with a 224 110lsa cam. I now run a 230/236 107lsa cam with the same sized whole. Most, if not all, idle issues can be solved in the VE tables says the ls1 edit tuner.

I have a stock TB with no hole - all idle adjustments were done through tuning alone.

231 237 and went with an 11/64 size bit through stock hole. just opened it up a tad. Not all of us can afford tunes right away. But this got it to idle rough but idle. As u drive it learns it's idle on it's own.

239/251, 106 - 1/4" hole. Tried to tune it without a hole. Can't get enough air to keep it running-> with IAC maxed out.

IAC MAX = 63.75 = 255 steps.

Hmmmm....now that it's pretty well tuned maybe I need to buy a new blade and see if it will work through IAC alone.....ETC- Vette.

joel

OOPS - I said 1/2", meant 1/4". You could throw a hat through a 1/2" hole!!!

1/4" hole with the old 230 cam. Was too much though, as IAC's were pegged at 0.

Mine is 2 drill bit sizes bigger from my old 224 and no tuning back then..I still drill the TB alittle with Edit.Makes the idle alot smoother at low idle settings.

With my old 230/230 110 cam, I was running with the stock hole and no idle tuning. Idled perfectly fine, loped like an MF'er..
