Default A4 guys with X1 cam

I'm looking to upgrade from my little T1 cam to either the C2 or X1 cam from MTI . I have a few concerns that I'm in hope can be answered . First of all will my current valve springs(blue strip comp cam 918's) be enough for this cam ? Second my stall is a Yank SS3800 with stock 3:23 gears will this create a problem for a daily driver ? Which will be the better cam in a A4 with full bolt ons as a daily driver ? thanks

C2, for those springs...C2

To complement that mid sized verter and stock gears? C2.

There is a huge leap from the 224/224 C2 to the 230/227 X1 and it's almost 600 inch lift.

The C2 is cam you can feel confident in using, when paired with your existing combo.

I love the X1, Check Sig! Those numbers are tuned for spray! The reason I went with a Vig 3200 is because of the spray. Would have love a 3800 but when I spray I would pop the rev. Now for thw springs I would go double. This cam has a high lift. Better safe than sorry! I have my dyno sheet on motor and spray. If you like give me your E-mail and I will send it. Remember there is a reason your going bigger. Might as well do it right!!!

The X1 doesn't ever idle or act like a cam of it's size..it acts like a mild 222/222 type of cam on a 114-116 LS...hell I had a 112 LS in my A4 and Jayson tuned it so well and my fiddling of the TB hole got it to idle so unless you were listening pretty good at a light or something you'd just think it was a nice exhaust or something...

Congrats brother!! U puttin the cam in? a couple of "don'ts/do's".... Pull off the intake to get to the back....loosen up the cam angle sensor and pull it out...be sure to clean all around the back so nothing gets dropped in there, but pull it slightly out and have it completely out when u put the cam in so you don't bump it....it's magnetic...I was told when I 1st put in my cam and did my heads I didn't have a tach and the car sputtered some and had to be repeatededly cranked to get going...all in all I replaced that sensor, took it to MTI...finally I got out some old pics of the motor before the H/C and I noticed one little connector..both ends come out of the same harness so i didn't think to plug it up...plugged it up and BAM...almost perfect...

also make sure if u don't replace ur timing chain (I didn't) not to let it fall.....watch out for the sharp corners of that CNC'd block too!!

Guys he was not asking which cam is better or which one will make more HP. He listed his mods and his plans then placed some stipulations: Using his existing springs, that 3800 verter, his 3.32 gears and it being a daily driver with an A4, i would still recommend the C2 over the X1. Why the C2 cam in my opinion better compliments his goals, his mods and his level of expertise.

If he planned on upping his gears, maybe going with a bigger verter and using different springs, then perhaps the X1. But using his existing 918 springs... i have to still give my nod to the C2 for his combo and level of mods.

I just dont wanna swap springs. I am changing gears though to 3:42's or 3:73's . All the stuff that has been done to my car has ben done by me so I am pretty knowledgable in what I have done so far . Sometimes though I find it reassuring to ask a question and not make a mistake thus the reason for the post . I am def leaning towards the C2 cam . thanks
