noisey lifter
I have a lifter that makes noise while idleing, you can't hear it once you up the rpms. It's been doing this for about 10,000 miles now.
Should i just run it and not worry or should i do something about it?
Thank you.

I have sort of the same thing. I have no noise at cold start when the temp comes over 110 deg or so I here a fast lifter type clicking sound. If I reve the car a few times it's gone or if I drive the car it goes away or when the temp gets close to 210 it's all quiet. IF I turn the car off after driving it a bit for 3 minutes or so and start it up. i here the lifter sound for about 20 sec and it's gone. Any Ideas or is this normal

I had the same problem. Found out that sometimes LS1's have problems with getting air bubbles in the oil, when this happens it makes it sound like a lifter is collapsed. What I did was idle it high at 2500rpm's for about 5 mins, this made mine go away. Then I went from Mobil 1 5/20w to 10/30w. GM has a bulletin saying that airbubbles can cause this noise and the high idle is one way to cure it.

Did changing to Mobile 1 10w-30 stop the lifter ticking noise ?
I don't have to high idle for the noise to go away that long. Just rev it up to about 2500 a few times and the noise disapates. Or drive it through first and second gear and it's gone until I shut it off and it does it for about 20 sec when started back up

Well a noisey lifter that is about to fail makes noise all the time, it doesnt quit after a couple of revs. Thats why the bulletin says this may cure it cause of air bubbles in the lifter is causing leakdown. If the lifter is bad it would clatter up and down the revs like detonation does.
