I'd recommend either the PAC 1518's (.650" lift) or the PRC dual spring kit for the MS3. While some do push the 918's past .600" lift, we do not recommend it. You get a much longer life out of the duals along with the added assurance that if you ever did break a spring that wouldn't be having to replace a short-block!

Either way I would run a spring that will support whatever cam you choose.

Most important thing is the springs are set-up correctly.

I agree. The springs and a good overall valvetrain.

I run 918s on on my .621 lift cam with out issue, and I still had to shim them .030" ish to get them all where I wanted them.

I run the newer 918's with my torquer 2. The v2 is a cam with a lift just short of .600 so I went with it. With an MS3 I would run something else...

Comp has them rated lower on purpose. Its really no surprise they can handle over .600

Kinda the same deal with the PAC 1218's vs the 1518's. The 1218's are really no different than the 1518's, but they don't go through all the processes the 1518's do, and thus get a lower rating for durability issues.

Exactly. It keeps the people that run a .601 lift cam installed at a Nissan dealearship from coming back and blaming them.

Quick Reply: 918 valve springs, ms3 cam??
