Default water/coolant spilled into valves - screwed?

hey guys hope you all can chime in. I decided to tackle down my cam install. a couple of buddies helped out. we followed the ls1howto guide so we removed the valve covers/rockers/pushrods first. after disconnecting the hoses and pulling radiator out, one of the attached hoses came up over the passenger side valves and coolant spilled into it I pulled it out of the way within seconds, but I would say a good 2 or 3 chugs spilled in there.

am I screwed? We removed the water pump after that and called it a night.

I doubt you are. Is the coolant pooled up around the valves? Im sure some of it probably got into the cylinders though, not to worry because for the stuff thats still on the head you can just blow that off with compressed air. And for the stuff that may have made it into the cylinder you can always pull the plugs and rotate it through the firing order and that should get the majority of it out of there.

Either way your not screwed IMO.

Pulled plugs and crank engine over to force any coolant out of the cylinder. I don't know how much coolant got in there, but pull the plugs and crank to be safe and it'll be fine.

i have heard that what ^^ said will work. if anything depending on where the engine was in rotation it may still be trapped in the head. you may be able to pull the head and just dump it out and clean it. report back and let us know.

Pull the plugs and crank the motor over to make sure you get any water out of the cylinder and blow the heads out good. Also, change the oil if you haven't already. If any water got in the oil you can hurt the motor just as easy. From there you should be good to go!

When i did my cam swap, i left the valve covers on, until just before pulling the front cover. That way nothing can get in there when parts are being removed.
