Exclamation LS3 Heads on an LS1?

Sorry if this has been covered before, but is it possible to put LS3 Heads on an LS1?

If it is, you KNOW what THAT means!

Nope, they need a 4.00" bore. Time for a bigger engine.

Unmodified L92/LS3 heads need at least a 4" bore, so no, they won't fit a LS1.

But, some machine shops are selling so called small bore LS3 heads. I can't post a link since they aren't sponsors, but google it.

Before i bought that for $7500 i would do a maggie and lower the kmember with spacers and cut the cowl on it. I guess its time to do a truck manifold turbo kit.

For the bucks it cost for that thing, might as well go turbo.

Isn't a 383 still a 3.9 inch bore?

Yes, but the Mast small bore LS3 heads will fit the 3.90 bore. Unmodified LS3 heads will not.
