You aren't going to get much out of that stock converter with any cam. What are your future plans, since you said a short while? It will drive but may be more of a dog than you are wanting. I would say the wider the LSA the less noticeable it will be. I would stay away from a tight LSA with a stock verter. Any reason you are doing a cam before the converter?

no converter+ no long tubes+ stock ls1 intake+220 or 224 cam= 15rwhp gain and little to no gain in 1/4 mile time. basically a huge waste of money for sound that you cant back up. grab a converter(3600 stall, then do a 224 cam) and youll have a pretty quick car.

Well you just need a cam that has a positive overlap and stock like manners. Most people will tell you to get a converter and not know why they are saying that other than the simple fact that other members have said it before, so it must be right! With that being said there is a sacrifice, but if you arent concerned with racing or E/T's...who cares right? Thunder Racing actually has a lineup of cams with lots of bark to them, bite as well if you are willing to upgrade appropriately. TSP can also custom spec you a cam with the manners you are looking for. Just don't get upset when a 4.6l with a cold air intake starts to walk on you.

He doesnt care about any of that currently. I am sure he can get a converter put in relatively quick though if it does cause concern at some point.

OP- Most members are concerned with 2 things:

Hooking - suspension mods with wide rear tires and shedding weight.
Booking - Motor modifications with drivetrain accomidating.

i hope you didnt order it, if so you just wasted money. when your ready to do a stall do a minimum of 3200, for a daily id go with a 3600 personally. youll make decent power with long tubes and a 224 cam.

With a cam and LTs you will not want a LM1...wayyyyyy to loud. I had to put a muffler on mine, I could not drive it as loud as it was. I love the sound of a LM1 with a stock cam, but it's too much when you add an aftermarket cam.

^^^^I would have to disagree, for all the reasons u thought it was bad i think it sounds badass, LM1+LT+F13cam+SS4000=all American badass sound when cruising and at idle!
