I'm looking to replace my current small cam 218/224 567/567 113 with one of these cams. Which cam would you recommend, how much will I pickup by swapping my current small cam? How streetable are these cams? I have a C5 with Cartek Stage 2 LS1 heads milled .033, all of the bolt on's and a TCS4200 with 3.73 gears. Best times so far 11.65 @ 117.75 with a 1.72 60 ft.(I spun on a crappy track).

MITCH,
You are doing the right thing as ALAN FUTRAL is the man and he will help you out with the perfect cam for your car. The 228/230 cam is what he recommended for me and you should definitely call him and he will return your call and tell him exactly what your have with your current mods and heads, etc. and what your goals and usage for the car will be and he will DIAL YOU IN MY MAN!!!

I am currently using the 987's that came with my heads. I haven't had a real chance to get on the car WOT due to the weather, but what I have been able to do the car just flat out halls ***. I am still runing on my old 224 tune and it actually runs smother at ilde and no surging whatsoever. My idle is lower then my old 224 at about 800rpms. I have taken her up to 6500 and left off of it, but she felt like she wanted more. I always let my car warm up to normal temperature before driving it. It is also about 10* here.

Alan is definately the man. I run his 228/230 on 113 LS +4 with TEA Stage 1.5 heads. Untuned, the car went 11.70 at 118 mph and after dynoing, we realized I was only running 80% throttle when she dynoed in at 381 RWHP. Fixed her up and got her up to 417/400 on a VERY not dyno friendly setup. She feels much stronger now. All his cams are great and he got my car running JUST like I told him I wanted it. I recommend FMS 100%.
