Default doing cam swap soon.... few questions

When doing a cam swap what all parts are needed?

I have the cam and springs as of right now.

Now the question is what else do i need???

LS2 timing chain?
ported ls6 oil pump?
gaskets? and which gaskets in particular?

i know pushrods is also on the list, but im gonna measure the correct length first.

im not sure exactly what i need to buy.... so i would greatly appreciate it if somebody could point me in the right way!

Thanks,

Lee

Water pump gaskets - 2
Timing cover gasket
Front crank shaft seal
RTV, a little dab for where the corners of the cover meet the oil pan and block.
Crank bolt. GM or ARP
3 jaw puller
Balancer install tool.
5/16s steel rod, to retain the lifters
250lb/ft torque wrench
Inch/pound torque wrench

Now would be a good time to do a under drive pulley if you want one too.

The GM gaskets are very good quality, and are pretty cheap. Just torque em to spec, and forget about em.

Make sure if the valve springs are doubles you get new retainers, seats, seals, locks. And valve spring tool with a cylinder air fill tool.
^^^^Just in case you didn't know^^^^

Brake cleaner and a magnet.

And dont forget coolant and an oil change.

if you install valvesprings, you will have to put on seats designed for them.. and to do that you have to pull off the valveseals...so you need new ones.. the intake and exhaust are different, but cheap thru GM... be sure to get version 2 not version 1 seals. locks are specific to the spring and the valve, same for the retainers for the valvesprings
