Default 1.6 rockers for the LS1??

I know stock is 1.7, but are there any 1.6 rockers that might work in an LS1?

Why would you do that in the first place?

Bigger is better. That would be the same as putting in a smaller than stock cam.

Not always true. Most comp XER lobes are in the .59x-.60x lift range. A 1.6 rocker with a 236/.60x lift with a 1.7 would be a 236/.565 with a 1.6... If your still on stock heads, What good is lift past .575??

Some examples of what I am talking about.. Cam I would like to do would be:

Comp XER Lobes with different rocker ratios..

Lobe# - @ .050 - 1.6 RR - 1.7 RR - 1.8 RR

3728 - 236 - .566 - .602 - .637
3730 - 242 - .574 - .610 - .646

on a 112 + 3

A 1.6 RR would work great on stock heads.

That makes good sense. Could you find a custom grind that has the duration and lift you want with a 1.7 rr? Then you could get just a cam instead of a cam AND rockers.

Orange SS.. To answer your question, I did some serious searching yesterday. Called a few sponsors, they gave me some contacts at Comp and other places to talk to and No one I talked to had a lobe profile even remotely close to a 236 @ .565 lift or 242 @ .575. There is one local custom grinder here that I am supposed to talk to again on Monday but it does no look promising.

Harland Sharp makes a set, I have a set in stock, but since the pushrod cup is moved away from the trunion and towards the valve cover rail it would probably be wise to grind some clearance inside the heads while the heads are off the car. We had these made so we could do some 7500 RPM hyd roller cam engines. I just respoded to another thread down this same line of thought.
