Default Dry sump... What to do with oil pump?

I'm putting together a dry sump setup and can't figure out what to do with the stock oil pump. Does someone make something to go in it's place? It's a 4 stage pump so I don't need the oem pump at all.
And where does everyone feed the engine? I'm thinking of feeding the rear port above the stock oil filter location on the drivers side after going through a remote mount filter.

Leave the pump out, it won't hurt anything.

That port above the filter is a good spot to feed, but some like to drill and tap it for a larger AN fitting rather than use an adapter. The dry sump pan should take care of blocking off the inlet and outlet for the filter, but you can drill and tap that for a pipe plug and seal it off that way.

Will I have any issues with having pressure on only one side of the barbell causing it to possibly push through? Keep in mind I haven't actually torn one of these motors apart yet to know what everything really looks like, just going off the few diagrams I can find.

I don't think so, but I know you can use a plug to seal it up if you don't feel comfortable with the barbell; it's just kinda tricky to install since you have to press it so far in and across that first passage.

Anyone else have input as to whether I can leave the barbell or need to replace it with a different plug?

If I were you , I would call ARE or AVIAID. They should know.

I'm installing a stage 2 ARE system (still use the stock pump) but I want to upgrade to -12AN. This means feeding in the same spot and I have wondered the same thing as you.

I have seen setups where the front of the oil galley is plugged with a NPT plug due to dry sump. See Handzel's book, next to last chapter (1,200hp motor).

Also, keep in mind, if you have headers, there is very little clearance to a fitting that would be threaded into the 16x1.5mm port (assuming you drilled it out and put something bigger) at the back of the block. I looked at it last night and it's not promising.

I searched all over the web for pictures of LS1 motors with dry sump but none show where the hoses are routed to the block.

When ARE opens this morning I will call them.

check this out....

Looks like the hard work was done for you. My only concern is the I.D. of a 16mm fitting. With wall thickness, there's not much left.

Sweet, but a $100 fitting? No thanks.
