Default Mileage on LS1 Motors?

At what mileage does the LS1 motor usually take a dump? I just bought one with 40k on it...

I have 82,000 on my '98. I have raced it and put mods into it (getting some stuff done right now) and it has not missed a beat.

there is no certain mileage the engine will take a dump, i bought mine with 93k miles on it and no problems. you can take brand new 02 and with 10 miles on it and run it into the ground by 10-15k miles or have it run to 150k+ miles on it. it all in how you take car of your ****.

and when your engine does finally take a dump thats what stroker short/long blocks are for

Coming up on 96k.

Its all in how you take care of your car.. I agree.

Keep it maintained [change oil, fuel filter, plugs/wires, etc as advised] and have fun with your car but don't drive the petal through the floor everytime you start up and your car will last a long time.

My '99Z pulled 327 rwhp and 337 rwtq @ 40K. It was a 6 spd, w/ a lid, catback, SLP y-pipe, MAF ends...oh and that was on 17" wheels.

My car has 14,350 miles on it, and the oil has been changed 15 times. Mainly because I don't drive it allot, and I change it every 3 months or so. Is it a waste of expensive Mobile1 oil???? Yeah, but who cares. My baby gets whatever it wants.

Keep the oil and filter clean, and you will be shocked how long any motor can last. Change that freaking oil and filter!!!!!

I think you need to look not further than the QMP Formula, and the motor they just replaced, 750rwhp on a stock 130k motor!

I have 84,000 miles on my 2001 Z28 and I just (2 weeks ago) ran the time in my sig. As stated above, it's all about proper maintenance.
