Default more power...g5x3 on 114 or g5x2 on 112???

what do you think makes more power, i know the power band is slightly higher on the g5x3 with the 114, but of the two which car you think would pull harder, assuming everything else being equal

My buddy just recently installed the g5x3 114, and its without a doubt a completely diferent feeling of power. We both described it as being more Euro like. The x2 feels a bit beefier, but I stress feels. The x3 pulls like hell up top smooth as silk clear thru 6800. Im a big fan of this x3

The X3 would probably produce more power because of the added duration and lift, but as Todd described, the X2 112 may "feel" like it is more powerful.

From what i have seen the G5X2 will definitely make more torque down low and in the mid range and therefore may be better suited for a car that sees alot of street time, but the G5X3 will outperform it up in the high rpms!

Im kinda hoping Mike chimes in here as his car feels the opposite of what you said. The g5x3 revs quicker, and pulls longer. I think up top is where it really shines.

the lift on the X3 is the same as on the X2...but yes, the duration is different, which raises the powerband up higher.

My numbers are in my sig with the G5X-2. They are by no means stellar, but I still have on the cats and dont have a pulley. I have my stock graph and the graph after the cam and headers i can send you if you want it.

i will see if i can get my X3 112 and X2 112 graph up soon. the difference between the 2 cams was 373s with the X2 and now 411s with the X3. mid range is about the same in HP but torque is down just a hair (lost 5 peak TQ) but i beleive that is all due to the 411s

I know lou like to keep his specs quiet...but when you are dealing with such a big cam, I would certainly want to be absolutely sure what the lift was.

Why would knowing the lift help you? Valves dont hit at full lift, to truly know if its going to have enough clearance you must clay it.

Quick Reply: more power...g5x3 on 114 or g5x2 on 112???
