<EDIT: Purchased heads 12/15/04>

I had problems with oil consumption. Some of the valve stem seals were installed incorrectly and were cracked. I bought new Fel-Pro Viton seals and replaced all the teflon seals (for good measure) and the problem was fixed. Terry sent me a set of new stock seals, but I chose to use the Fel-Pro's instead.

Am I happy? I'm *satisfied* at this point, but not elated. However, I know these heads aren't perfectly matched for my cam. But I do know I picked up right at about 20 hp over the stock heads with no tuning changes. Going to dyno again Friday with a better tune and I'll post the results. If I were planning to keep this cam, then a 5.3 head would probably be a better match. I think these heads will have more potential with the max. effort cam that I'm going to install later.

<EDIT AGAIN:> See new dyno #'s here:

Verbs,

Get your friends that have had PP heads with problems to register and post their findings here.

He asked for people with PP heads to respond not unnamed acquaintances

Over 8,000 total miles with LS6 STYLE heads here. Not one second of trouble. I'm very satisfied with my heads and I have suggested these heads to loads of people and I have NEVER had one person PM me back and tell me I pointed them in the wrong direction or that they weren't happy with the results.

This will be a very informative thread if only people with firsthand knowledge that actually own the heads respond. Everyone else needs to sit back and watch

I've had mine for a couple of months. I haven't put alot of miles on them yet, but I'm very pleased with these heads performance wise with the TSP 231/237 in my 00 SS A4.
Also, I have had no oil consumption problems so I would say I am very satisfied with these heads.

Have only had my PP stg II 59cc heads and TSP 231/237 cam for a couple weeks so I can't comment on the reliability. Only about 200 miles so far.. I'm certainly happy with the performance so far though

I'm curious to know how many of these heads are out there so far.

Chris, thanks for keeping an eye on this thread. Will be good to have real data posted instead of the typical PP bashin jibberish...

I had a set on my car which chrewed through oil 2 quarts in 800 miles, terry sent me new valve seals but as the valve seals were on their way i blew both head gaskets and had to pull the heads. Heads were both warped and leaking 15% through the seals. I was told the valve seats were sinking and that i could have dropped a valve, (this was before any of this came about a few days ago). The heads were also flowed and i dont have a sheet to prove this (terry will reflow them when he gets the back) but i was told they flowed 277 @ .600.
Terry sent me another set and i have them new in the box. He was evry helpful with trying ot fix the situation. As with any product a bad one occasionally slips through the cracks. I still think terry has the best customer service of any of the vendors i have experienced. Also pleased with LG, but never had any problems with his stuff yet. BUt he is very helpful!

I haven't been to the dyno yet, and I still have some tuning issues to work out but with the g5x3 on 112 and PP ls6 stage II's, I ran a 11.69 at 117 with a 1.72 60'...completely stock suspension A4 setup shifting at 6600, in a full weight car. FWIW, it was the very first time I've ever been to the track, and it was on my 2nd run. I've never been to the track before with any car. So I'm sure there is room for driver improvment also. There is a lot more in this setup with a good tune, gearing and suspension. I just ordered the suspension stuff, and will be taking care of some fine tuning and weight reduction in the next 2 weeks. I should be running in the 11.2-11.3 range with correct suspension and tuning, and just more practice. I'll have some hard HP numbers when I get tuned. I was completely satisfied with Terry's professionalism over the phone, and I think for the price, I definately got my moneys worth. Could I have spent more and got a better flowing head? Sure, but to me the extra 7-15 HP wasn't worth another $700 - $1500 over the price of the Patriot heads.

1. Very Pleased with the performance, pulled 429rwhp with full bolt ons and a g5x2 through a moser 9" with 4.11s. Didn't get a chance to see a track yet.

2. Drove it for about 400 miles so far and noticed some oil consumption. About 1 quart.

I havent installed any LS6 style heads, but I did buy a new set never installed locally just to have them flowed. They were app 20cfm down across the board. I do believe Terry found his problem and corrected it after talking with him....

I have installed a set of 5.3s( I know this is LS6 style). They picked up a solid 16rwhp/0ft lbs over a cam only set up. Also drank about a quart of oil every 1000 miles....

There are two sets locally also. One is an RP Motorsports heads/cam on a Corvette, made 392/361 with all supporting bolt ons... He smokes and drinks a lil oil as well. I dont think the heads are his issue on power though, its an RP tune and one of their goofy cams...

The other set is on a Z06 with a D1 blower and forged bottom end. He has had no known issues to date and is very happy with his purchase. These were obviously not welded chamber heads though, nor did he use Patriot valvetrain.

Good post, thanx for handling issues in a constructive manner.

So far so good with the ls6 style heads. Put down 435hp with 231/237 cam. No issues so far. Car pulls hard as hell.

Oh, they're registered, but they won't post. I think it's hypocritical that I can't post about a friends PP heads that I saw firsthand, but someone else can without censorship.

Oh sorry, the fact that I looked at the heads myself isn't first hand. My bad.

Mine seem to perform well on my 383. My setup is not a max effort and can be daily driven in stop and go traffic without any issues, surging or bucking at all. Stock TB, Stock water pump, stock pulley, and baby cam (by stroker standards).

My car ran a 11.4@126.75 with a 1.91 60' (bog) leaving off idle on DR's during our first shakedown passes. I got kicked out for no rollbar before we could drop the tire pressure and launch it properly. While not the fastest times out there, it's well capable of 10's and easily 130mph traps N/A. I'm really happy with my setup.

1832 miles and no oil consumtion issues at all.
