Default Can a car smoke if its not tuned?

Guys after my head and cam install, I've noticed that it smokes sometimes at startup. Is this normal for not being tuned?

Hey, AFR's aren't important as long as the car runs..... Right? But on a serious note, typically a cam swap if it's an upgrade likes a new tune.

tune is needed, when you blow to much fuel it will start to wash down your cylinder walls and over work your cats. the cats can be replaced, but by washing down your cylinder walls you will be depriving them of lubrication and hence shortening the life of your motor. running lean is dangerous cause it can cause detonation and destroy your motor, and running to rich will ruin it less but it will still eat it away.

just get a tune, i am taking my computer to my dyno tuner for a base tune, so i can drive it over there after i install my heads and cam.

did you add fuel injectors, cause if you did then it is not safe to drive it around even for a little bit.
