Cam postion problem
All right guys I’ve got a LSX tall deck in a 2001 trans am with LS2 conversion kit. the cars kicks out DTC P0343. I have Ohms CK the harness from extension harness to PCM all good. The ignition wire to sensor has 12v with the key on. Now when the cars runs the hi and lo don’t record any values on HPtunners (see attched data log). I am at a loss as to what is wrong... Also the tach in the car is inop but will read through the PCM..

That is always my first suggestion on this issue! Hard start, tach bouncing or inoperable, and cam sensor high/low voltage codes (in a swap such as this) is almost always those wires needing to be switched!

It is easy to do! Find the cam sensor, it has three wires going to it. A-B-C are the wires, just swap A and C in the pigtail.

oh ok that is easy !!!!!! and the reason its throwing the code (p0343) is because i went from the ls1 to the 5.3 correct ? ( has ls6 intake, bigger injectors, big cam,and stock exhaust for now) .........i dont think the shop got a extention harness ,ill check but if they didint do i still switch the A and C wires ?

It is typically throw when you go from a rear-mounted cam sensor (LS1) to a front mounted cam sensor (such as the late model 5.3's) with that extension harness from Caspers.

Might check that you have a good connection there and to the PCM then. If you didn't extend the wires then you shouldn't need to swap those. Ensure good connection at the sensor, no pinched wires (between the transmission and block particularly), and good connection at the PCM on both banks of wires.

I have the Casper's harness. Just to be clear, where do I need to swap the wires? The pigtail where it plugs into the sensor itself OR where the Casper's harness plugs into the sensor pigtail?
