Curious-Would LS6 springs be sufficient for 224/224, .563, 112 cam?
Title says it all but i am curious as i have read recently that the LS6 springs are pretty stout and used by GM with the ASA Gold cup cam.
Would the LS6 springs be up to snuff on a TR 224/224, .563, 112 lsa cam? My gut says no but was wondering if this would safely work. Heck, if it did i literally would just have to swap out cams on my stock headed Z06 motor.
Also, is the LS6 springs a single spring or dual and what would be the largest cam specs. that could be adequately used with LS6 springs?

The indirect answer is NO. LS6 springs, while work fine for anything .540 lift or below, would be a bad idea with anything higher lift than a LS6 or ASA cam. 918's are only 100 bucks man, you willing to risk bent valves over 100 bucks and 2-3 hrs of time??

Believe me when i tell you that i would not do this especially since the cam i reference is way smaller than a cam i would put in my Z06. Pretty much posted this just out of curosity and to educate myself a bit more regarding stock LS6 springs. For the time being i have also decided to keep my LS6 motor 100% stock as i need a 100% reliable driver and have two other fully built race cars to get real silly with!!!

You sure did spot me on Rt 83 on Saturday as i just had to take my baby out for a spin after not driving her for a month. I didn't want her to feel unloved on Valentine's day afterall! MAN, it felt great banging through the gears again with that 4.10 rear end! I posted in the great lakes section about spotting you in your truck on a thread there started about PSJ about people taking out their babies in the winter! MAN, Your WS6 is going to be radical when its done. Looking forward to checking it out and going for a ride!

YEAH i agree with you that when i do finally cam up my Z06 it will probably be the G5x2 with my stock heads but going to keep her stock for a bit longer as i have a few road trips planned and decided to keep that 100% stock reliability.

LS6 springs are one of GM's great designs, but they aren't designed for anything higher than .540-.550 lift or really fast ramps. They would probably work, but fatigue early and float valves....

I take it the LS6 spring are single springs or are they duals?
