Default Lqs6293 = 500hp?

I decided to put some CNC ported LS6 heads on my LQ9. So, what does the motor become? Most 6 liters with 243 heads are LS2. But, mine has an iron block. So it is an LQ-2? or how about an LS-9? Or, is it a LQS-69? Since the heads are ported, they flow like LS3 heads. The only logical thing to do is to pay homage to all of them. How about LQS-9623?

On a serious note, the cam is 222/224 .566/.568 on 112. The compression is 10.88:1. The car is carbureted with a 750 Pro Systems carb. I am thinking it will make 500Hp at the crank. The car is 3370 and 3550 with me in it. 3.90 gears and a 3000 Circle D. Anyone have any timeslip predictions?

I vote for LQ6. And I think I may steal that for my build as well...

Good luck with the build.

That is some serious camshaft you have in that new build. Looks like you could be headed for the 10 second club.

I'll have to sink some serious funds into a rear end and suspension mods to get there...but that's the goal. Cam is about the size of an MS3, but the extra cubes of the LQ4 help eat it up a little. I'm optimistic about the combo...should be fun.

Finally got that oil-pan you were waiting for huh speed ?????????
Recently seen an LS3(376cid) crate dyno @ 483 stock w/ dyno exhaust
carb and no acessories. Then G.M. cnc heads went 492 hp and lastly
a comp 224/230 stick @ 560 ponies. Even uncorrected w/belt driven crap
thats still 520ish. So w/ 12 less cubes your expectations are realistic
and I'm sayin with good drag radials or slicks you should expect at least
11.70-11.85 @ 115mph

Our old 383 with ported 243's,MS3 ,4.11's and a LS6 intake made 440-450RWHP. You should be close to it. What intake?

I really don't have much experience with RWHP. The only car that I ever chassis dyno'd was my 2004 Cobra. It was pulley'd, tuned with a magnaflow cat back. It had 430 RWHP. That car was an animal.

I don't see this car being nearly as strong as your 383. You had more cubes and more cam. Whatever it ends up producing will be measured at the track. I don't plan on going to the chassis dyno.

The engine has an Edelbrock Performer RPM and a Pro Systems Holley DP. I think they said it flows a little over 780cfm.

You need more cam and converter to go with the heads

Seriously, it sounds like a great street combo. Should run good.
