running rich after cam
hey everyone as some of you know i just installed a 228r cam on 110lsa in my car. Well as soon as we finished it i drove it for about two days without a tune. It ran okay just quite rough at idle. Well about the 3rd day(yesterday) it started to smoke some( pretty sure rich) and then today i went and got a tune (put down 385rwhp 378tq). But even after the tune it is smoking some. (tuner did say that his computer was showing no activity from the o2 sensor on the passenger side. Now i was thinking since the smoke came after a couple days that maybe i fouled a plug? But it is running really good. Do you all think it is just the o2 sensors on the passenger side (even thought the smoke comes from both tailpipes?
thanks!
thanks!

Unless you are running true duals looking at the pipes isn't going to tell you which side could be at fault.
You throwing a code at all? If it just stopped responding you should get a code thrown. FWIW after putting in my cam and tuning it on the dyno the AFR was good where it was, although slightly rich. Got my wideband setup a few days after and discovered the idle AFR was in the mid 11's. Over time the fuel trims probably adjusted the MAF so that would explain why the first couple days it was fine and progressively got worse.
I put in a larger cam than what you did so it could have had a more drastic affect in my experience but I would bet the car is idling/cruising richer than it should and in turn fouling out plugs. Might be worth it to pull them off and take a quick look at them.

LOL wow, DUH didnt think of that. No he sat in with it off, then running, took it around the block while tuning, then put it on the dyno did some low speed pulls, then 3-4 wot pulss. The thing about the o2 is that it isnt throwing a code. But when i unplug it, a code will appear shortly thereafter saying no activity. But why would this code always be there if the o2 isnt reading anything?
