Default On my 408 TFS 235's or LS3's

I am in the market for some better heads on my 408 and in between the two.
I figure they would be roughly the same price wise by the time I buy a fast 102 and tb with fuel rails, rocker arms and the LS3 heads I would be about the same price as TFS 235's.

you will get great results from both, but the ls3 stuff seems to be what everyone is going with. Cant go wrong with either.

Both will make power but the LS3 route is much less of an investment. The factory LS3 parts (intake, injectors, rockers) make good power and are inexpensive.

Don't forget the PRC 237cc cylinder heads, or even the PRC new aftermarket casting LS3 heads. We have PRC aftermarket castings due in within about a month! The 250cc & 260cc runner heads should be ready very very soon!

We have the cathedral cylinder heads on special & a very good option for you if you decide to stay cathedral.

I had ls3 heads on a 402ci and it made 520hp 466 tq with a fast 102mm intake. I switched to the tfs 235 heads still with a fast intake and got 530hp peak and 470 peak tq. I gained 20hp and 15 lbs tq under the curve. I went from 126.6 to over 130mph in the 1/4mi and 2.5 tenths faster with my 60 foots being over a tenth slower. I would go tfs 235 and leave the ls3 alone and the prc are not proven yet. Those others heads are less cost and has people on the banwagon. You get what you pay for and tfs or the afr heads are performers proven time and time again. Good luck with your choice ad build.

IF you are staying NA.. go Cathedral port for better port velocity... it will net you more power and torque than an LS3 head, and you can run a bigger cam with the TFS 235's or PRC 227/237 heads...

if you are going Forced induction, then go with the LS3 head as it wont allow for as big of a cam, and teh large valves will be good for forced induction..
the Large Valves also dont have as good of port velocity as the Cathedral ports, but who cares about a couple of pony'z that you can make up by turning up the wick on the Air forcing device.

and Mick C.... PRC's are well proven... I just made 526/500 with a fast 90/90 and 3" y-pipe exhaust..I just switched to a 4" exhaust and I'll be buying a fast 102 in the near future.
Just because they havent been out as long as the TFS heads doesnt make them not proven... and everybody who uses the PRC Heads makes good power with them..

Did you have stock LS3 heads or ported LS3 heads?
