Default Pics of carnage after hydrolock - rod through block

Well I tore it down to the point where I could get a few snap shots. I was hoping the majority of the damage was to the pan and the block could be salvaged, but that looks impossible now. Here are the pics:

The hole in the block

Its not all bad... I have LS3 heads and a FAST 102 with a 92mm TB ready for a 6.0+ block sitting storage. Looks like i'm going to need a new camshaft now too. A lot of the parts I thought were going to be able to be reused or sold look worthless now. Sucks...

Good excuse to build it right! I spun a bearing / blew up engine in August. I was piling up parts for months for the rebuild. Sold everything that didn't make sense for what I wanted i.e. 7k+ rpm cam and built it with the parts I wanted.

Mods were CAI, TB, headers, cam, pushrods, and springs basically. There was a lot of water in one of the cylinders... Don't think it was any of the mods that did it.

That block would make for a pretty cool coffee table if you add a glass to it.

Lol what an awesome idea. You can't get a much manlier coffee table than an engine block.

Yeah, so how did it hydrolock? I really want to know as I've removed all my rain baffles, even though I live in cali.
