Default 5.3 into 346, or 347?

what do i need, i just want to do forged rods and pistons, but idk the rod length needed or the bore size needed. thanks

oh, and it will be a studded turbo motor.

6.125, you can choose piston size from 3.9 > 3.905

as said above. i would even consider having the cylinders sonic checked if doing 3.905. shouldn't have any issues if just going to stock ls1 bore 3.898

Is your 5.3 an iron motor? If so, your safe at 3.905....in fact your safer than any LS1 or LS6 block would be. Deck plate hone for best results.

Have u done this? Want 2 do this as well. Did u re use the crank from the lm7? If I can re use the crank ill do it since I have the ls1 pistons and rods already

Ok cus since my cam is a lil to big I might stroke it 2 ls1 specs 2 make it more dd material.

i dont hink its thatbig, these engine flow great air! maybe just bore it out, or port the heads a little.

Idk a lot of people say ill need a big stall and so on. I already have the pistons tho and the ccrank is the same so it'll be easier 2 do ls1 specs

yea you will need a larger stall, depending on the duration of the cam, you could prolly get away with a 3k or 3200. my old LT1's cam card called for a 3500 stall, so you may call up comp cams and see what the reccommend, all the variables matter, weight of the car, purpose of the car rear gear, yadayada. and also, big cams like shorter rear gears.

im going to use the 32-3600 stall ive always used, but i have to change my rear gear back to 3.42 from 3.90. for the turbos, they like load.


im sure some experts will chime in with more accurate info.
