Default F*** U.P.S.!! What can brown do to you?

For those who don't know, I had a cracked head a week ago and Texas Speed made a replacement casting for me and had it sent out with a three day turnaround. Props to TSP I am not badmouthing TSP. They were very helpful with the situation. UPS on the other hand sux!

Well, my replacement head came today... First off Texas Speed sent the head UPS 2nd day air and it was supposed to be here Saturday. It came today... Next I knew I was in for trouble when I saw the box. Here is a pic...

And here is a few pics of what I found once I opened the box...

Looks kinda bad but not sure If I can still use this head...

If it was me I would wait and contact both UPS & TSP tomorrow. Maybe they can send you out another first day air and you can send that one back asap. I def wouldn't install in because 1) you will be stuck with it in that condition, 2) the deck surface itself looks a little rough also. TSP has been great with me and my dealings with them. I would atleast give it a chance tomorrow before installing that head.

This blows! First the cracked head... now one late and tore up in shipping... I was going to go ahead and install it, but I am sure I will regret it if I do... I have three 215's in my posession now and only one of them is worth anything... I paid too much money for this kind of BS to happen! I guess I will call TSP first thing in the morning and see what can be done. Either way I don't think I am going to make my Dyno day which really sucks!

I used to work at UPS for a little while in the warehouse before I joined the Army. Its a shitty job, done at shitty hours, by people who dont give a **** about your package.

How was the head wrapped inside the box?

It had some packing paper at either end and had a layer of cardboard lining the inside of the actual box and the head itself was in a plastic bag.

I hate those ****** (UPS). They charge 25-50% of a package's value in "brokerage" fees for something going north of the border. It's legalized extortion.

USPS all the way for us Canadian guys.

You can plainly see that wasn't packaged properly for shipping. You think shipping a hunk of aluminum<made from soda cans> can take getting tossed around in a truck for 100's of miles in a piece of cardboard? UPS will take care of it, I've dealt with them before. But if they find it wasn't packaged properly they are off the hook. I had a rad shipped to me that was damaged, it wasn't their fault but the company that sold it to me refused to take it back unless I filed a danage claim with UPS. UPS came and picked it up and a few weeks later said it wasn't their fault. SO the company that sold it and shipped had to pay. Of couse they gave me shitty time and after about 6 months I finally got a refund AFTER contacting my credit card company and filing a claim.

You should really change the title of this thread.

I worked for UPS over the holidays once for some extra cash...big mistake. Their management style is comparable to ****'s looking over a concentration camp. If you have ever gotten anything with a foot print on the box it is b/c when the trailers are unloaded the boxes are thrown on the floor so they can be stepped on to reach the top ones..and those things are packed so tight you could not pour a can of hot wax in there.

I actually got yelled at for carrying a larger box marked "fragile" to the belt and was told to "throw it gently" next time. The ******* kept my last pay check too, never told me why. **** UPS.

Actually it's not. Double corrugated padded box inside of a single corrugated outer box with packing paper at both ends(ends are double corrugated). There's only so much we can do to UPS-proof parts. We'll get it straightened out a soon as possible!

I shipped a set of heads to a member here a couple months ago and it turned into a real mess! They must have dropped them off the truck or something? UPS just does not give a damn anymore....IMHO.
