Default yella terra's are droppping steal seats what the cause???

So this is the 3rd one in 1000 miles...i have a 224/228 .535 .538 cam (114 +2) LSA 7.400 pushrods. Heads have been milled .20-.030 The stel seat that the pushrod/rocker connect keeps falling out. i do the 22 Ft lb toque from LS1howto. Just got an adjustable pushrod and have it torn down. Any idea the proper way to check the length? could they be too short and have play causing them to fall out? Seems very quiet when running.

they had some issues with a batch a while back. email or call them and they will send you an entire new set and you send back all the old ones.

Do a search here and on Corvetteforum. Jim from Yella Terra posted his e-mail contact information for anyone having problems. Contact him directly be be aware they are on Easter Holiday and not sure they will be back until the middle of next week.

Also, if you are following LS1howto on setting these up, that is incorrect. Did you set the wipe pattern first using shims and then once that is done measure for pushrod length.

One other thing to check is that the pushrods aren't hitting the pushrod hole in the head during the rocker motion. There were some issues with some heads with pushrod contact.

he said my rockers were way to old to warranty, but he wanted me to send in some good pictures and Jim said "Say that Im intrigued as to what happened with the setup so we can have a look at them and if we can repair them".

Looking at your photos again, are those the original design or the ultra light design?

yeah....No got them off ebay not too long after they came out, i wanna say they were 600-800 new at the time and i got them for around 300. They were in really good condition little to no wear on the moving parts. still talking to the yella terra guys if they can fix them or help me on a decent price for replacments... am i asking too much for a better deal on a failed product?

Depends on how long you want to be without the car. New Era usually has good prices on the Yella Terra ultralights.

could be bad valve seats ,or bad head work(not heat treated).I don't see how a rocker arm could cause a valve seat to drop.are the valve springs good?
