Default Cam for ss3600 stall?

Just did the ss3600 and now I want more power. A cam seems like the thing to do. The car is a 95% street car but not a commuter. I drive the car almost every day spring - fall but its only to have fun
I dont think the car goes on a sniffer test so thats probably not a problem. I would like to get a cam that will give kick *** torque everywhere What do you guys think?

Upper 220's to lower 230's on a 110-112lsa, with +2 to +4 advance.

You won't have to rev it high, it will make for a great dd, still get decent gas mileage. It isn't much smaller than the street sweeper mentioned above. It should give you about a 40-50hp increase. The 112lsa on the cam will bring torque in sooner and allow you to not have to rev as high

With a cam like that, would you have to flycut the pistons?

I hope you are kidding. A 224 cam Is not even close to needing to flycut. Hell you don't even have to utter for an ms3 with stock heads, or ms4.

Stick to something high 22x/22x under .600 and 112-113 Lsa. Anything similar to that will keep you happy for a long time.

Personally I would buy sweets that he listed above. If you want a larger cam sell or trade it and get a bit larger one.. that's a good deal for everything there.

Btw thought i wuld add i have a similar stall (3400). And i am getn a similar cam probly from tsp. Im going with either the 224r or the 228r on 111 or112 lsa. Good thing with this mid 220 cams is u can keep ur low end torqe and mide range power and u dont have to rev them to the moon

Get something low-mid 230s or you will just regret not going bigger.

I daily drive my car with the 230/224, the chevelle is likely a couple hundred pounds heavier and it still has torque out the nose in low/mid rpms.

If I were doing it over something 230-232/236-238 with around .600-.620 lift would be what I was looking for, get some expert advice from Pat G, Predator, and Geoff to fine tune the specs.

Pat G has always had impressive info no doubt.

My thoughts......

Torquer V3
TR230
228r
Or a 228/232 from Cam Motion.

Some of my favorites.
