Default choice of 2 cams, which one?

first off some specs.

block and rotating assembly is a 2000 lq4, I'll be running ported and polished 243s breathing through a 85mm bbk intake and tb and pacesetter long tubes with a 2800 stall.

I'm swapping the heads this weekend, the cam I currently have in the car is a custom comp cam (538/535 224/244 112). While the heads are off would be a good chance to swap in another cam I have laying around if it would be a great benefit. The cams specs are ( 575-578 235-238 112)

What would the gains be( and more importantly where)

The only thing I really have to go by is comp cams camquest and it shows that Ill be losing power (only have close cams no matches ofcourse).

Let me know what you guys think.

did you type a number wrong on the cam is not a 224/224 because 224/244 its lobe separation i think is too much for your N/A engine but i think if you go with the 235-238 cam you will gain about 10hp or even a little more what power are you making with that 224/244 cam?

ino the 224 is a pretty small cam but will be tvery orquey with your 6.0l and the other cam might be a little big for your stall. Does the car have gears?

Agree'd with above....I would probably invest in a better cam for your set-up then the two listed. Or, if we have to pick, keep with the 224.

is that cam speced for a pure stock exhaust?thats a wide duration spread for ls1 with headers.what exhaust are you using?look at a comp LSr cam to match your rear gears and tranny ,or contact Patrick-G for a kick *** cam.

I'm using true duals with a H and bullet mufflers, no cats. I did get it to help get rid of some exhaust. Not looking to get another cam for this motor, I have another block that'll get a work over and my money.

A 224/244 is not a small cam.

Yea the 224/244 is a unusual spread. I get that alot, keep it or sell it and put the new one tho?
