Default It's cam time! What cam for pnp 243's/ 4k stall?

I'm looking to get a cam. I'm going to send my 243's to AI for them to work there magic on the heads! I have mods in sig. What cam would be best? I looked at the speed inc s14 and s15. Is there any other good cam choices out there? My goal is low 11's, high 10's. Car is a weekend car only. Don't want to fly cut either.

Are the Heads gonna milled any? SI5 would be better for your goal over the SI4. Take a look at the cams offered by Texas-Speed- MS3 for one, Or Something from Thunder Racing. Good Luck with Decision

Get an MS5 cam and remember to change your springs every 500 miles

I would also suggest the SI5 231/237 or something the size of the TSP Torquer 2 232/234. Good size cam.

This is a great cam if u dont mind replacing springs often. try the MS3/Raptor/G5X3 All very close but good cams that would work well with that size stall/gear

What kind of rpms are you gonna be shifting at? Whats the vehicle weight? Diameter of the rear tire? The only correct answers so far in this thread are the ones that are saying have someone else spec it for you. Because someone who specs cams will get all relevant information BEFORE suggesting anything.

A little more info on the car like raceweight? And do you want to run high 10's OR low 11's? What type of atmospheric conditions do you race in? There's alot to consider when putting together a good combo. For example I just put together a Camaro who plans to run an 11.50 index class, which means 11.50 in the heat and 10.90's in the cooler weather. His car is heavy at 3825lbs raceweight and we went with TFS 215 heads and a Comp XER287HR (pn 54-448-11, 238/240, .605/.609 lift, 112LSA) on a stock LQ4 shortblock. So far we've only run it in the heat and it's got the 11.50 index covered.

IMO, if your looking to go with the S15, go with the S15v2 unless your wanting to keep the lift under .600".

It would be a good idea to see what what cam specs AI recommends, since they are porting you heads.
