Why do so many people trust that stock gauge??? With any oil pressure discrepancy, you must first verify with a mechanical gauge that the problem actually exists.

verify the problem first, its very unlikely that is a correct reading but you dont want to take a chance... it is located on the drivers side all the way behind the intake, you will have to move your brake booster vacuum hose to feel it.. they suck.. just so you know.. i unbolted my tranny mount and put a jack under it to give me a little room but you dont get much....

I was driving today, car was warmed up idle oil pressure was about 38psi. Wen i drive hard in drive it only goes up to about 41 then i put it in neutral and hit the gas and it goes up to 50 or 60. Wats the deal? Oil weight is 10w40 and oil pump is tsp ported ls6.

Hence the "Omit Item #2."
Inconsistent readings from electrical gauges ares due to bad sensors/sending units, poor electrical grounds and wiring issues more often than not.
Step one (after at least casual inspection of the wiring) is to put on a mechanical guage to determine if you actually have a pressure problem or you are just chasing an electrical problem.
