Default Pin fell in to oil pan! What to do?

Ok so i was pinning my crank. And when i went to put the pin in it sliped from my and and fell between the seal and the crank. First i figured if i pulled off the cover i could get to it. so i took of the water pump and timing cover. And had no luck, So it looks like it down in the oil pan. Now tomorrow i plan on dropping the oil pan. Or will it be safe down there? Is there a filter to prevent it from getting pulled up from the oil pump?

You might be able to take a pin magnet and get it if it has not made it to the sump I was able to when I dropped a oil pump pickup bolt in my pan it will be worth a try

And thanks. I actually tried a magnet, And had it... then hit a lip and lost it... think it rolled all the way down this time.. i cant seem to catch it again.

Ok so before i decied to drop the pan today. I deiced to go look for a smaller pin magnet. Since mine is 5 and 10 lb magnates. they head is a little wide to fit in there since i already had the timing over off. well i picked up a pocket pin magnet at Nappa for like 2$ witch had a small little magnet at the tip and was nice and skinny. So then i got back and started fishing. First two times shoving it down came up with nothing... then the third time i pull it out. the pin was stuck to the tip of the magnet! what a relief! Ill make sure not to make that same mistake twice now!

Oh yes i was.... You don't even know the relief i felt when i seen it stuck to the end lol, I had to scream out YES! The rest was easy after that. didn't take to long installing the damper and putting the timing cover back on and water pump. Shes back up and running now. Just wanted to get the dampner on now. So when i put the procharger on its one less thing to worry about.
