7.1 @ 95 w/stock lq9/tsp tsunami cam. Any idea where this motor peaks?
Took it out on Friday to Texas Raceway (local 1/8th mile), it was 97* at 10pm! Car went 7.1 @95 w/a 1.53 60' (still need an anti roll bar). Motor is a stock LQ9 from a 2005 Escalade w/a th350 and 4400 stall (this is in a mustang coupe btw), all it has:
1 7/8th longtubes
TSP Tsunami cam
TSP pushrods
My buddy said it sounded like it was nosing over before I shifted at around 6600 (not actually completing the shift until around 6800). On the 7.1 I short shifted 2-3 shift and it obviously didn't hurt anything. I really want a 6.9x on this combo (which in better air I think would be possible).
Where would you shift this at considering I am still running the stock 317 heads?
Here is a video btw:

I have a very similar combo as you do but in a little heavier car. I have an lq9 with a tsunami cam that is carbed with a th350 and 4000 stall. I can feel mine nosing over as well over 6600 rpms. I watch videos of mine run and can hear the difference. I try to shift mine around 6500 at the track. I don't have any dyno numbers so I am not sure where the peak power is at.

Have any of you who feel it "nosing over" after 6500rpm dyno'd your vehicle? What rocker arms are you using? Curious if it is a valvefloat issue, because that cam will pull well past 6500rpm if your valvetrain is stable!

I have the tsunami kit from tsp with prc duals and comp pushrods. Stock rockers. I think mine may be nosing over due to jetting in my carb. Mine is installed straight up as well. I try to shift around 6500 with my th350. The car has never been on a dyno.
