Default oil pressure help please, new block

ok i just built a brand new gm 6.0 cast block lq9 and have very low oil pressure, pick up o ring is good the pump was good on my other motor.Im thinking since it was a new block i make be missing a oil plug in the block some where. Cause i had to put all of the water plugs in it. Does any one know if the are any oil plugs in the block? I put the little plastic one in the back but thats it. Thanks,Jason

There is also a hole in the front of the block in the same place the plastic one goes in the rear. Sometimes new blocks wont come with the plug installed. It looks like a small freeze plug.

Make sure that one is there as well.

Doubt it...call an LS vendor from this site like Texas speed or Thunder Racing

I believe you're looking for GM part number 9427693. We have them in stock or you can typically grab them at any decent GM parts house for a few bucks.

yeah, without that plug it would pretty much be zero.

I know because I know a guy who is a self perscribed LSx expert who built a motor once and failed to install that plug. Guess he doesnt know quite what he claims huh?

lol

no big deal. I can actually understand someone doing it. hell, I would have overlooked it the first time I built one of these motors.....but then again, I dont claim to be an expert or know it all.

glad you found it before any damage was done.
