Default Best way to install oil pump o-ring

I just recently pulled the front of my motor to get access to the oil pump. What is the best or correct way to install the oil pump o-ring. Also can I use rtv as reassurance.

Just slide the o-ring onto the oil pump pick up and then slide the pick up into the oil pump. Do not use the RTV, that is no good. The new motors do not need any RTV. Just make sure that you use oil or assembly lube on the o-ring.

Thanks,

Just as Chris said. A dab of motor oil or assembly tube on the o-ring while it is installed on the pickup tube is all you need. Then, install the o-ring and pickup tube as an assembly into the pump. Torque the oil pump pick up bolt to 106 lb-in. and you are done.

I just installed the o-ring like you guys said. I watched and made sure it went in square. My oil pressure on startup before was 60 cold and 35-40 warm. With acceleration oil pressure did not go pass 55 psi. Know since I replaced the o-ring it is at 20-25 psi. I don't want to drive my car with that little psi. What should I do.

Sorry about that. I poped out my oil pressure sensor harness connector and rerouted the brake booster line so it doesn't put pressure on the oil pressure connector. Pluged up the oil pressure sensor and bam 55psi at idle warm. Plus when I shift gears at 2500 rpm part load the oil pressure maintains at 75 until I go into the next gear. Thanks again guys. D#$% electrical connectors.
