Cam Recommendations
I already know that this is a widely discussed and asked question as is, but I seem to be in a bit of a pickle. I want to be 400+ at the wheels for horsepower, but at the same time need something decently streetable, from March until the snow hits the ground this year it will be my daily around 90% of the time. But I will give up some streetability for more power. It will be going into the 01' in my sig with the only additional mods being an LS6 PCV conversion, and ported/ polished heads if I actually follow through with this cam setup. So if you know of a good cam setup with bonus points coming in for what springs, pushrods, etc. to use, it would be greatly appreciated.

a EPS 222/226 cam with ported heads will make 400+hp with full modes.you could use pac 1518 springs ,and measure for push rods if you mill your heads.you can talk to Geoff at EPS for a cam kit.

IMO, go with a cam duration in the upper 220's to low 230's range.

Well I'm also looking into cheaper alternatives, I.E. milling my stock heads and getting some port work done and upping the compression to run on E85, and leaving the stock cam, for now at least..ideas? Or has anyone heard of anyone doing such a thing?

Definitely talk to Geoff @ EPS and or PatrickG. I don't think Geoff charges extra for custom grinds, it's like $375-400 which is what you'll pay for an off of the shelf grind. Just give him a call, it's the easiest way to reach him as he always answers or calls right back. Great guy that doesn't mind answering all of your questions.

How so?! HT is for HIGH TORQUE!!! With that 111 LSA torque would be the least of his worries. And with the duration not being overly large, tuning and driveability shouldn't be much of an issue either

Im in the same boat as you and daily drive mine and sure tuning is HUGE but ive seen and researched alot on this same topic and IMO the 216/224 .560ish lift cams look like big gains even at 3k rpm over our 01-02 tiny 6.0L stock cam, and I never have seen a cam in 230+ dur have equal tq #'s under 3k, too many people on here say 228dur=small,236dur=med,244dur+ is big, some people need to drive a cammed M6 F body to work 80 miles per day and then see what they think, the fastest cam/head F body I seen at gateway in 2009 was drove to the track, 99 z28 with AFR heads, fabbed intake,10.5" slicks, Auto with 4.30's and a HOTCAM of all cams, and it went 10.89, that shows its not the big cam that gets it done, but alot of guys on here do know cams, the high lift freaks me out.

Do a search on that streetsweeper HT and look at some of those dyno graphs. Every single last one I've seen has performed very well under the curve. But I would still rather go with something in the 113-114 range personally.
